
METROPOLITAN EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The metropolitan executive committee is an organ of both decision-making and execution, and an advisory body of the municipality. There is no elected member in the committee other than the Mayor. The committee, headed either by the Mayor or someone to be assigned by the mayor, is made up of the Secretary-General and the Heads of the units of construction, public works, legal affairs and accounting, and personnel. As there are no specific regulations in the Law No. 3030 concerning meeting and working principles, and duties of the committee, the principles determined by the Law No. 1580 for other municipal executive committees prevail on these issues.
DUTIES OF THE COMMITTEE
Functions of the Executive Committee
a) First Examination of the budget prepared by the Mayor.
b) Examination and control of the monthly summaries, examination and approval of the auction terms and documents, declaration of the study of the final account to the Municipal Council.
c) Determination of expenditure fields for the unforeseen expenses allowance.
d) Execution of the transfer among the secondary levels of the budget classification.
e) Declaration of Municipal warnings for the fulfillment of the obligations given to the Municipalities.
f) Determination of tariffs and charges of transportation vehicles.
g) To put up for sale the required municipal movable goods via auction.
h) Examination and decision of cases that will come from the Municipal Administration regarding the selection of municipal officers, their promotion, punishment and dismissal etc.
