A Courtesy Visit by U.S. Ambassador to Mayor Imamoğlu

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu on Tuesday received the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, Mr David M. Satterfield, at his Saraçhane Municipal office.

Mayor Imamoglu stated that the request for the visit came from Mr. Satterfield himself and said, “I wish a very successful period in the relations between the two countries, in particular, without forgetting Istanbul. This success is very important both for the relations between the two countries as well as for this region.”

Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu hosted Mr. David Satterfield, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey, who began his mission in Turkey seven months ago, at his Saraçhane Municipal office.

Speaking before the meeting, Mayor Imamoğlu stated: “The visit requests of Mr. David M. Satterfield has made us very happy. His Excellency has been serving as the Ambassador of the United States in Turkey for seven months and has become a dear friend. I wish a very successful period in the relations between the two countries, in particular, without forgetting Istanbul. This success is very important both for the relations between the two countries as well as for this region. We would be thrilled to welcome him and serve a delicious cup of Turkish coffee, which is said to be memorable for 40 years."

Speaking at the end of the visit held at the Municipal Office, Mayor Imamoğlu expressed his satisfaction from the visit of Mr. Satterfield and wished him success in his new mission.

Following the visit, which lasted for about an-hour, mayor Imamoglu accompanied his guest to the front door and bid farewell to him.
