Kazakhstan Independence Day Celebration at CRR Concert Hall

The 28th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan will be celebrated at the Cemal Reşit Rey (CRR) Concert Hall on Monday, December 16, 2019. The event is jointly organized by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Turkey and TURKSOY Foundation (Turkic World Journalists & Artists Association).

In the event, the Kazakh Folk Musical Instruments Orchestra, Korkut Ata Historical Instruments Ensemble, and Otağ Turkish World Music and Dance Ensemble will perform an exciting program titled “Inspirations from History”.

Nurlan Bekenov will conduct the Folk Music Orchestra of the State Academic Philharmonic Orchestra of the Republic of Kazakhstan, led by art director Prof. Dr. Aytkali Jayımov. Korkıt Ata Historical Instruments Group will be conducted by Alkuat Kazakbayev.

Over twenty pieces will be performed at the concert, including the epic of Ata, Gönül Açar, Köroğlu, Yar Yar, Aksak Kız, Yelmaya (A work of Dede Korkut) and Katibim (Üskadar’a Gider İken). An unforgettable journey will be portrayed through the fabulous mazes of the Turkic World music. The works to be performed will in part be accompanied by a dance ensemble.

During the event, live Turkish folk music will also be performed. The performances will aim to enable a cultural rapprochement between Turkey and Kazakhstan.

The event will be free of charge and will start at 7:00 pm on December 16, 2019.
