Free Public Transport on August 30 Victory Day and Bayram Holiday

All public transport across Istanbul will be free of charge for the public on the occasion of Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha holiday) between August 11-14, and on August 30 Victory Day. The decision was taken during the Municipal Council session on July 11, upon the proposal of Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.

Istanbul Electric Tramway and Tunnel Inc. (IETT) will add an extra line on its schedule for citizens to reach the slaughterhouses of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and perform their sacrifice rituals.

The scheme will be applicable to public buses, trains, metrobuses, trams, funiculars and ferries, starting from 6 AM on August 11, which marks the first day of the Bayram holiday, until 12 AM midnight on August 14. Commuters in Istanbul will be able to roam around the city on all kinds of public transportation free of charge.
