IMM City Council to go live again

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipal Council is to broadcast its first meeting live on both social media and on the website on Monday.

The meetings of the Municipal Council, which have been broadcasted “live” since April 2019 with the initiative of Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, will continue to be broadcasted “live” and free again. The July session of the Municipal Council, starting on Monday will be broadcasted live on both satellite and social media.

After the local elections held on June 23rd, 2019, the newly-elected Istanbul Metropolitan Municipal Council will hold its first meeting on July 8 (Monday), 2019. The meeting will be held under the presidency of Ekrem Imamoglu in Saraçhane Municipality Hall at 13:00 p.m. 

Istanbulites, who have shown great interest in live broadcasting in the last months, will be able to watch the meetings "live" on the social media account of Imamoğlu and the IMM's social media accounts or on the İBB TV broadcasting on the internet.

Here are some items will be brought to the agenda of Council by Mayor Imamoglu:

  • Public transportation will be free for children under the age of 12 and mothers accompanied by their children under 4.

  • Limiting the number of meetings of City Council from 5 to 2 days with intensive working sessions to achieve the set-out objectives.
