Works on Two Lines Ended and Test Drives started

The works such as construction, electrical-electromagnetic works and fine craftsmanship of Mahmutbey-Mecidiyeköy Metro Line, one of the ongoing projects in Istanbul and it will be the first driverless metro line of the European side of Istanbul were completed so far. Vehicles are down on rails. This line will be the second driverless metro line of Istanbul and test drives have started. The line is planned to be opened to the service of Istanbul residents at the end of this year. Construction, electrical-electromagnetic works and fine craftsmanship of the Eminönü-Eyüpsultan-Alibeyköy Tram Line have also been completed. Vehicles are down on rails. The Eminönü-Alibeyköy line is being constructed with a system to be implemented for the first time in Turkey with no electrical poles to power the tramline. The tram will be powered by a feeder rail located in the middle of the train rails; thus making sure there will only be electricity under the tram when the tram passes, stressing that vehicles or pedestrians passing through other sections will not be exposed to an electrical current. There will be no cables for electricity, and electricity poles will not be installed.
