More Than 10K Students Receive Fisheries Awareness Courses This Year

Istanbul Municipality has given classes to 26 thousand 461 students about the effects of marine pollution on the ecosystem, fish types in our seas and the role of fish consumption in healthy nutrition since 2016.

Within the scope of the project started in 2016, this year 10 thousand 328 students in 37 schools across the city received fisheries awareness lessons, aiming to improve children's environmental awareness. 

The students who attended the lessons given by the expert fisheries engineers of the Directorate of Agriculture and Fisheries had the opportunity to ask and learn everything they wondered about the water world. 

The experts informed the children about aquaculture and seas with visually rich presentations in Arnavutköy, Ataşehir, Avcılar, Bağcılar, Bahçelievler, Bakırköy, Başakşehir, Bayrampaşa, Beşiktaş, Beylikdüzü, Büyükçekmece, Çekmeköy, Esenyurt, Fatih, Güngören, Kağıthane, Kadıköy, Küçükçekmece, Maltepe, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Ümraniye, Üsküdar, and Zeytinburnu districts year-round.
