IMM wrestlers bag 3 Bronze Medals in U23 European Wrestling Championship

Our athletes Cengiz Arslan, Hasan Basri Yildirim and İbrahim Tığcı wrestling in tournament competed in the U23 European Championships in Novi Sad, Serbia, won 3 bronze medals. The Turkish national team finished the tournament with 1 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Cengiz Arslan, 72 kg, won the bronze medal by defeating his rival Juan Sebastian Aak 9-5. Hasan Basri Yildirim, 82 kg reached the bronze medal by defeating his rival Eltun Vazirzade 2-0. Another IMM’s wrestler competed in the Greco-Roman style, İbrahim Tığcı, 97 kg, won the bronze medal by defeating Ruslan Bekuzarov 5-0.

Turkey won 8 medals - 1 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze in the tournament. The team scored 141 points and finished in the 3rd place after Georgia, which scored 178 points, and Russia with 167 points in the Greco-Roman style.

The Turkish national team completed the tournament as a third place.
