Istanbul to shine in blue-orange lights for World Cancer Day awareness

The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) will illuminate the Galata Tower with blue-orange lights this evening to draw attention to the World Cancer Day on February 4.

The International Cancer Control Organization (UICC) and international partner organizations are organizing events around the world to raise public awareness of cancer symptoms, cancer prevention and to support people to make lifestyle changes that can help reduce their risk of cancer.

The Bosphorus Bridges in Istanbul linking Asia and Europe including 15 July Martyrs Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridges will also shine orange and blue on 4 February in recognition of the World Cancer Day.

Blue-orange lights will be illuminating in several buildings and bridges, including 15 July Martyrs Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridges and the city landmark 1500 years old Galata Tower to mark “World Cancer Day” in Istanbul from evening hours until the next day morning.
