Istanbul Ready for 54th Presidential Cycling Tour Final

The 54th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey will be completed in Sultanahmet Square on October 14 with additional support of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. The tour, which started from Central Anatolia with 140 world-renowned athletes of 20 teams and continued with a route through the Mediterranean and Aegean coasts, will reach to the Marmara and be completed in the historical center of Istanbul.

Promoted to World Tour category by Union Cycliste Internationale, the 54th Presidential Cycling Tour started with 140 professional cyclists of 20 teams in the middle of Anatolia on October 9. After the 2nd stage between Alanya-Antalya and the 3rd between Fethiye-Marmaris, the 4th stage is going to be completed today by climbing the Bülbül Mountain where the House of the Virgin Mary is located. The 5th stage will start from Selçuk and end in Manisa. The 6th and last stage of 164 kilometers will be between Bursa and Istanbul on October 14. The athletes will ride over the Osmangazi Bridge and pass through the Avrasya Tunnel.   

Just as since 2008 up to now, Presidential Cycling Tour reaches a wide access network throughout the world by means of live and recorded broadcasts through national and international prestigious channels, mainly Eurosport, in more than 120 countries in this year as well. To date, the world-famous star cyclists such as Mark Cavendish, Andre Greipel, Alessandro Petacchi, Adam Hansen, Sacha Modolo in recent years also participated in the tour. The winner of 2017 tour was Italian cyclist Diego Ulissi from United Arab Emirates Team.
