The biggest congress center of Turkey is in Istanbul…

<p>The biggest congress center of Turkey, built by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, opened by Prime Minister Erdoğan and Mayor Topbaş. “Civilization can be identified by this kind of art pieces.” Mr. Erdoğan said.</p>

After Istanbul Haliç Culture Center, now 2010 Capital of EU Culture, Istanbul has another great investment. The biggest congress center of Turkey, built by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, opened by Prime Minister Erdoğan and Mayor Topbaş. Chairman of French Senate, Government Minister Hayati Yazıcı, Istanbul Governor Muammer Güler, State Police Chief Hüseyin Çapkın and some member of parliament, French senates, Metropolitan Municipality and many citizens attended to opening ceremony in which Mayor Topbaş hosted.

Istanbul Congress Center where has totally 22,723.81 square yards area and 143,518.81 square yards construction area, firstly will host IMF 2009 World Bank Governors Meeting on 28th September – 8th October. With this meeting, Istanbul will be leader city where the important decisions are taken again.

Prime Minister Recep Tayip Erdoğan who spoke in the ceremony, said that “this art piece has totally 22,723.81 square yards area with 7 floors under ground, 5 floors on ground. It was completed in a short time. We built both Haliç Congress Center and İstanbul Congress Center. Civilization can be identified by this kind of art pieces. So the meanings of these kinds of Works are so important. The work which were started to built but couldn’t be completed, are in the past.”

Declaring that Turkey is ready for Meetings of IMF and World Bank, Erdoğan said “Until today, Meetings of IMF and World Bank were performed in three places, except USA. In 1955, they are organized in Turkey and then in Singapore. Also, in third time, the meetings will be performed in Istanbul and in that hall on 6th-7th October.”

Mayor Topbaş; “10 millions tourists are aimed...”

Defining that Istanbul Congress Center is the biggest congress center of Turkey and will accelerate culture life of Istanbul – 2010 European Capital of Culture- with Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage, Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Kadir Topbaş said “In spite of risk tables in all around the world, Istanbul continue to impress people. Istanbul is indicated as “Advantageous City” by investors. In stead of only Industrial city, Istanbul gained more qualifications such as a city of congress, fair, fashion, art, education, health, finance.”
