Hirka-i Şerif opened to visit in Istanbul

Hirka-i Serif, a mantle which is one of the major relics left to Veysel Qarani  upon will of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) at the Hirka-i Serif Mosque was opened to visit on the first Friday prayers of Ramadan month in the Fatih neighbourhood of  Istanbul on May 18th, 2018.

Mr. Mevlüt Uysal, the mayor of Istanbul; Mr. Vasip Şahin, the governor of Istanbul; Dr. Hasan Kamil Yilmaz, the head of the Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs; Mr. Hasan Suver, the mayor of Fatih; Mr. Mürsel Sarı, first Regional Director of Foundations of Istanbul; Mr. Ahmet Ümit, the District Governor of Fatih, the descendants of family members of Veysel Qarani as well as many citizens attended the ceremony organized in the garden of Hırka-i Şerif Mosque for allowing visits to see the Hırka-i Şerif.

After completing
 the recitation of Qur'an, the Hırka-i Şerif was opened to visit by Dr. Hasan Kamil Yilmaz, the head of the Turkey's Directorate of Religious Affairs. He mentioned that people were happy for seeing the relic of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)  on the first Friday of Ramadan annually.

The relic can be seen between 10:00 and 18:00 on weekdays and 09:00 - 18:00 on weekends. Visitations will continue until the end of the mid-afternoon prayer on the eve. It will also continue on the Laylat al-Qadr following the Tarawih prayer until 02:30 in the morning.

Istanbulites who'd like to visit Hırka-i Şerif may use the Ramadan Line bus services of IETT. Citizens who are old, pregnant or ill can see the Hırka-i Şerif with company without waiting for queues.
